Yakovenko clinches up with Down and pushes him back against the cage.

Down sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yakovenko's guard.
Yakovenko wants to sweep but Down has passed to side control!

Down is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yakovenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Down is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yakovenko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Yakovenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Down. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yakovenko is trying to control Down's posture but Down avoids it.
Yakovenko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Down kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
