Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Allen Dartagnan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dequan Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dartagnan comes to the cage accompanied by Bridge Burner. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dartagnan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dartagnan works over Johnson's head and body with a nice combination.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Dartagnan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dartagnan to the ground. Johnson is now in Dartagnan's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Dartagnan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dartagnan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Dartagnan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dartagnan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Dartagnan eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dartagnan uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dartagnan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

It looks like Allen Dartagnan has been cut.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dartagnan pinned against the cage. Dartagnan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dequan Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dartagnan enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dartagnan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Allen Dartagnan.
