Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellington Darden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Malinowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darden shoots in and drives through. Malinowski sprawls well.
Darden throws a series of punches but Malinowski moves out of range.
Malinowski lands with a good body shot.
Malinowski tries for a takedown but Darden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Malinowski shoots in for a takedown but Darden shows good takedown defense.
Ellington Darden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malinowski looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ellington Darden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheus Malinowski.
Malinowski avoids a punch combination nicely.
Malinowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Darden tries to avoid it but Malinowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Darden to the ground. Darden escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Darden tries to close the distance and clinch but Malinowski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Malinowski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Darden as he avoids it easily.
Malinowski drops his hands momentarily and Darden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Darden shoots for a double leg takedown but Malinowski sprawls well. He's pushed Darden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Darden counters with a left and a right that stings Malinowski.
Darden misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Malinowski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darden pinned against the cage. Darden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Malinowski closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Malinowski shoots for a double leg takedown but Darden sprawls well. He's pushed Malinowski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Malinowski counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Darden is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Darden doesn't manage to clinch there - Malinowski circles away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Darden clinches up with Malinowski and pushes him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Malinowski has had enough of the clinch but Darden keeps him there for the moment.
Malinowski is trying to drag Darden to the mat but Darden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ellington Darden dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Darden leaves Malinowski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Malinowski closes the distance and clinches up with Darden, looking for a takedown. Malinowski pushes Darden against the cage but Darden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Malinowski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Darden is fending him off so far but Malinowski persists. Nope, Darden circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Darden looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malinowski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Darden lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
