Canas comes to the cage accompanied by DMX-Stop Being Greedy. Jay Canas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Casey Jones's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Canas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Casey Jones!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Canas.
Canas fails to land the takedown.

Canas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones has Canas pressed against the cage.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Canas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Canas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Canas lands a nice looking body shot.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Canas to the mat! Canas manages to get full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones wanted to stand there but Canas had control of the position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Canas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones shoots in and bounces Canas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Canas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Canas keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Casey Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Jones dives in and grabs Canas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Canas pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.

Jones has Canas up against the cage in a clinch.
Canas wants to stall.

Jones manages to break the clinch.

Canas misses with a body shot.
Canas misses the shot to the body.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Canas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Canas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Casey Jones wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Canas's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones wants to control from the top but Canas keeps moving.

Canas throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.

Jay Canas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Canas which made him look bad.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Canas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Canas throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Canas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jones throws a sloppy strike and Canas uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Canas has ended up in Jones's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Casey Jones.
