And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dumont is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Oliveira clinches with his opponent.
Oliveira is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Oliveira is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Dumont has Oliveira pressed against the cage.

Oliveira manages to break the clinch.

Oliveira has closed the distance and engaged Dumont in a clinch.
Oliveira is trying to push Dumont away but Dumont has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Oliveira is trying to pull guard but Dumont turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Oliveira is looking to break free of the clinch but Dumont has double underhooks.

Dumont wants the takedown. Oliveira is fighting it off but Dumont persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Oliveira's guard against the cage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dumont's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Dumont wants to pass the guard but Oliveira is keeping the position.

Oliveira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dumont defends it easily.

Oliveira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dumont doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dumont manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dumont not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dumont prevents Oliveira from getting back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dumont is stalling in the full guard.
Dumont knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oliveira on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Charley Dumont wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Oliveira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dumont pinned against the cage. Dumont gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Oliveira has managed to clinch.
Oliveira tries to score a body lock takedown but Dumont shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Charley Dumont will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Oliveira gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oliveira tries to pull guard but Dumont won't allow it.

Oliveira breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Oliveira shoots in looking for a takedown but Dumont manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oliveira's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Oliveira closes the distance and clinches up with Dumont, looking for a takedown. Oliveira pushes Dumont against the cage but Dumont circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Charley Dumont has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Oliveira.
Oliveira looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A head kick from Oliveira lands but Dumont takes it in his stride.
Oliveira is breathing heavily.
Dumont is looking to clinch.

Oliveira pushes off an throws an elbow but Dumont leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Dumont breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice sprawl there from Dumont as Oliveira shoots in.
Dumont tries to clinch but Oliveira is having none of it.
Diego Oliveira is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dumont tries to clinch up but Oliveira circles away and keeps his distance.
Dumont moves in looking to clinch but Oliveira pushes him off.
Oliveira avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oliveira lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dumont circles away quickly and effectively.
Dumont shoots in but Oliveira avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dumont looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Dumont counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oliveira won't be happy with that.

Dumont controls the position from side control.
Oliveira sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Dumont prevents Oliveira from standing back up.
Dumont performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Charley Dumont just wasn't active enough.
Oliveira misses with a takedown

and Dumont counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dumont.
Oliveira is trying to pull guard but Dumont turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Dumont.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oliveira jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dumont walks away with a smile on his face. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Charley Dumont will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Oliveira throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oliveira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dumont defends it nicely.
Dumont tries to close the distance and clinch but Oliveira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dumont drives through and clinches with Oliveira against the cage.

Oliveira jumps into guard, dragging Dumont to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dumont showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Oliveira looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dumont seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Charley Dumont is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dumont but Dumont pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Oliveira takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dumont has managed to clinch.
Dumont avoiding damage as Oliveira throws knees to the body.
Dumont blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Oliveira tries to throw a body punch but Dumont avoids it by throwing Oliveira back against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dumont takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Oliveira tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Oliveira is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dumont pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dumont gets underhooks to prevent Oliveira's takedown attempt.
Dumont's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charley Dumont.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dumont, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
