Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paal Gloppe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shogun Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shogun Rua struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Shogun Rua has been cut.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

and Rua counters with a single leg into guard. Gloppe didn't expect that.
Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gloppe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Gloppe throws up his legs and catches Rua in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Rua tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Gloppe! That came out of nowhere!
