The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown but Henderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzales's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Henderson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Benson Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Henderson throws a head kick that Gonzales semi-blocks.
Henderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Gonzales swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Henderson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Henderson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gonzales manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Henderson scores with a punch to the head.
Gonzales shoots in and drives through. Henderson sprawls well.
Gonzales throws a wild hook but Henderson just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Gonzales gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Henderson raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Benson Henderson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
