Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Sub Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice takedown defense from Benton. No joy for Jones on that attempt.

Benton tests Jones's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jones takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A lazy left from Benton finds it's target.

Jones ducks right into an uppercut from Benton.

Benton cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Jones throws a right and a left that Benton avoids nicely.

Jones throws a solid leg kick but Benton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jones.
Benton fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Jones tries to score with some ground and pound. Benton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jones has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Benton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Benton's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Benton duly obliges.

Benton lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benton jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well.
Benton connects with a body shot that sends Jones's belly button to the back.
Benton shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jones eats them both and turns towards Benton to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Glenn Benton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Jones throws a chopping leg kick but Benton manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Benton is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jones takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Benton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Benton fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Benton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?

Benton gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. Benton manages to retain guard.
Benton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
Benton wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Benton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Benton in his guard.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Benton tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.

Benton wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Benton is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Glenn Benton wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones looks to land a combination but Benton avoids it well.
Benton lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jones is looking to score with low kicks.
Sub Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Benton changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Benton sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Glenn Benton.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Benton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
