PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fubar Pogue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vito Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pogue might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Deadmau5 - Ghosts n Stuff. Vito Ferrari will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrari has managed to clinch.
Ferrari lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ferrari dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Pogue lands a hook to the side of the head.

Ferrari breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ferrari swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ferrari cracks the inside of Pogue's front leg.
Pogue takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pogue takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ferrari throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ferrari scores with a head kick.
Pogue fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pogue shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ferrari has Pogue up against the cage in a clinch.
Pogue misses with a knee strike.

Pogue lands a body shot in the clinch.
Ferrari tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pogue's elbow.
Ferrari gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pogue.
Ferrari lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Pogue doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pogue has Ferrari pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ferrari manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fubar Pogue. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ferrari works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Ferrari lands a nice uppercut.

Ferrari breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pogue is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ferrari punishes Pogue's body with a nice straight punch.

Ferrari with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ferrari's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pogue under the eye.
Pogue tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ferrari connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ferrari jabs Pogue to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Pogue is breathing heavily.
Ferrari throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Ferrari throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ferrari lands with a nice body punch.

Ferrari closes the distance and pushes Pogue back into the cage.
Ferrari lands with a short shot to the head.
Ferrari scores with a nice hook to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Ferrari.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pogue.
Ferrari on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Pogue goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Ferrari manages to break the clinch.

Ferrari instigates a clinch.
Pogue misses with the head strike.
Pogue is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ferrari escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ferrari lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Ferrari scoring well with a low kick there.
Ferrari chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ferrari connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ferrari lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ferrari lands a big uppercut and Pogue crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Pogue looks OK. Ferrari waves Pogue back to his feet!

Pogue is rocked!
Ferrari looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Ferrari backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Pogue's temple! It sends Pogue violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Ferrari celebrates and the doctors try to help Pogue!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Vito Ferrari!
