Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaf Dowson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Igor Ivanov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanov misses with a takedown attempt - Dowson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ivanov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dowson.
Horrible takedown by Ivanov or perhaps it was just good defense by Dowson which made him look bad.
Dowson shoots for a takedown but Ivanov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ivanov shoots in and bounces Dowson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Ivanov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dowson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Igor Ivanov was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Dowson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ivanov sprawls well. Ivanov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dowson gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Ivanov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dowson doesn't seem phased though.

Ivanov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dowson tries to avoid it but Ivanov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dowson to the ground. Dowson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dowson closes the distance and clinches up with Ivanov, looking for a takedown. Dowson pushes Ivanov against the cage but Ivanov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dowson tries to keep at a distance but Ivanov has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ivanov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dowson uses from the top position.

Dowson throws an elbow that misses. Ivanov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dowson's guard. Nice move by Ivanov!

Dowson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dowson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ivanov tries to free his leg and advance position but Dowson is retaining full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dowson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ivanov defends it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dowson has his feet on Ivanov's thighs here. He's pushed Ivanov off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Ivanov screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
