PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kong King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monkey Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luffy has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luffy gets caught napping as King dives in and scores a takedown. Luffy manages to retain guard.
King slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Luffy looks gassed!
Well, if King is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Luffy has hold of King's hands but King slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

King not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Luffy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

King is taking a breather. Luffy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
King landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

King uses his free foot to push down on Luffy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Luffy.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Luffy takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! King's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
