Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Ovechkin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn loads up on a big right hand but Ovechkin slips the punch.
Ovechkin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ovechkin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like DJ Benn has been cut.
Ovechkin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ovechkin.
Benn lands an overhand right.
Ovechkin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benn moves away.
Benn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ovechkin as he jumps to the side.
Ovechkin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Benn backs up against the cage.
Benn is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Benn leaves his chin hanging out and Ovechkin seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Benn crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ivan Ovechkin!
