Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Janek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanki Onki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ivan Janek has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janek lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Janek looks to land a body kick but Onki moved away.
Janek pivots, looking for a leg kick but Onki is out of range and Janek settles back down.
A clash of legs there as Onki blocks the low kick.

Onki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Onki lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Janek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Onki's waist but Onki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Janek off to one side.

Onki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Janek defends it nicely.

Janek clobbers Onki with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Onki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Janek as he jumps to the side.

Janek throws a nice inside leg kick.
Onki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Janek throws a sloppy head kick and Onki moves out of range easily.
Onki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Janek sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Onki somewhat.

Janek fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Onki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Onki has managed to clinch.

Janek is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Onki can't fight it off and eventually Janek manages to take the fight to the floor. Onki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Janek will probably get the nod.

Janek has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Onki is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Janek.
