Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Prates. No joy for Olympic on that attempt.
Prates tries to bum rush Olympic with a series of wild strikes but Olympic uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Prates connects with a right hand. Olympic shakes it off.
Prates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Prates lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Olympic circles away quickly and effectively.

Olympic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Prates, pushing him back against the cage.
Olympic looking for a takedown.

Olympic is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Prates can't fight it off and eventually Olympic manages to take the fight to the floor. Prates looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Olympic is looking to work some ground and pound but Prates has wrist control.
Olympic controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Prates wants to sweep but no luck.
Olympic tries to free his leg and advance position but Prates is retaining full guard.
Olympic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Olympic is in close to Prates's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Olympic stands and steps away. Prates gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Prates fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Prates throws a left and a right that both miss

and Olympic counters by clinching up.
Prates scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Prates working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Prates pushes Olympic back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Prates is trying to push Olympic away but Olympic has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Prates prevents a takedown attempt there.
Marco Prates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sterben Olympic.

Olympic is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Prates gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Olympic jumps guard but Prates turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Olympic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A jab lands there for Prates.

Olympic avoids a punch combination nicely.

Prates stalks Olympic and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Olympic's face. Olympic staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Prates shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Olympic eats them both and turns towards Prates to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
No luck for Olympic with that takedown attempt.
Olympic looks gassed!
Prates is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Prates throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Olympic throws a sloppy head kick and Prates moves out of range easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Prates.
Prates fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Prates stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Prates throws a right and a left that both miss.
Prates misses with a few strikes there.
Olympic swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Prates looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A left and a right from Prates both land. Nice combination.

Olympic is rocked!
Olympic moves in looking to clinch but Prates pushes him off.
Prates keeps the fight on the outside.
Prates throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Olympic's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Prates dives in looking to finish as Olympic flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Prates's strikes! Prates is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Olympic's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Olympic was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
