Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Severus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones dives in and grabs Severus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Severus pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Jones is looking to clinch but Severus is avoiding it.
Severus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Severus fails with the takedown
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Severus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Severus pushes him off.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Severus. Severus gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Severus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Severus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Severus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Severus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Severus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Severus seems keen to control Jones's posture.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Severus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Severus's head.

Severus pushes a forearm under Jones's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jones is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
