The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahern tries to clinch up.

Turris drops Ahern with a left right combo! Turris follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like Jack Ahern has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turris is looking to take a break and control but Ahern is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Turris works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Turris lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Turris lands some shots froms side control.

Turris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ahern. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Turris is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kyle Turris was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Turris lands a huge takedown. Ahern is out but the ref is slow to react and Turris lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Ahern lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
