Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocky Gatto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Shields!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatto misses with a combination

and Shields counters with a single leg into guard. Gatto didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gatto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shields is controlling him.
Gatto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shields controls the pace.
Let's hope that Shields has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tony Shields wasn't active enough on the ground.
Shields changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gatto tries to avoid it but Shields manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gatto to the ground. Gatto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gatto lands with a hook. Shields tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Shields closes the distance and clinches.
Gatto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gatto has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Gatto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gatto stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gatto lands a jab to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gatto misses with a wild combination.

Shields moves into the clinch.
Shields prevents Gatto from breaking the clinch.
Shields stalling.
Gatto could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gatto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Shields drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shields decides to pull guard.

Shields looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gatto is defending well. Shields quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gatto has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Shields celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
