Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Jesse Marcel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcel comes to the ring accompanied by city of angels. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Ward clips Marcel with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Marcel a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Marcel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ward - the referee stops the clock and Marcel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ward. Marcel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ward tries to bum rush Marcel with a series of wild strikes but Marcel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ward lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ward.
Ward scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Marcel scores with the left hand. Ward knows he should have avoided that one.
Ward has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marcel finds it's way round the side to connect with Ward's head.
