Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ed Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Prokopos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson comes to the cage accompanied by Stephen Lynch - Special Ed. Prokopos has chosen Deep River Blues - Doc Watson as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Prokopos throws out the jab.
Ed Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prokopos shoots in for a takedown but Nelson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Prokopos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to avoid it but Prokopos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nelson to the ground. Nelson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ed Nelson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nelson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Prokopos!
BOOM! Nelson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nelson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Prokopos is squirming around, avoiding Nelson's attempts to control the action.

Prokopos wants to hold on but Nelson pushes him away.
Prokopos is bucking up trying to escape but Nelson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nelson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Prokopos is now in Nelson's guard. A big mistake from Nelson there, giving up the dominant position!
