The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Spartan throws a sloppy head kick and Alexander moves out of range easily.
Leo Spartan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spartan looks to score with a jab to the body but Alexander is just out of range.
Spartan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Spartan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alexander sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spartan somewhat.
Alexander throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spartan's waist but Spartan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alexander off to one side.
Alexander shoots in and drives through. Spartan sprawls well.
Spartan tries a head kick but it misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alexander is posturing up here but Spartan has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Alexander tries to roll out but it's too tight and Alexander has to tap! Slick submission there by Spartan!
