Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Craig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Broxton Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Broxton Knox looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Craig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Broxton Knox!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Knox.
Knox throws a lazy head kick

and Craig counters by moving into the clinch.
Craig lands a shoulder strike.
Knox jumps guard but Craig turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Knox has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Craig after a bit of a struggle.
Simon Craig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Broxton Knox.
Craig scores with a shoulder strike.
Craig manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Craig lands a shot to the body.

Craig jumps guard.
Craig keeping moving, preventing Knox from controlling successfully.
Craig managing to control the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Craig is on top in guard.
Craig passes Knox's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Craig controlling the pace.

Knox has hold of Craig's hands but Craig slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Craig is looking for a kimura but Knox is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Craig to get the leverage.

Craig stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Craig shoots in for a takedown but Knox shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Craig looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Knox!
Knox is trying desperately to improve position.
Knox looks gassed!

Craig sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Knox can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Craig has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Simon Craig just wasn't active enough.
A combination from Knox does no damage.
Knox tries to clinch but Craig moves away
and Craig counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Craig tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knox swivels and escapes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knox swats away the attempt to clinch by Craig.
Craig changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Knox tries to avoid it but Craig manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Knox to the ground. Knox escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Craig dominated that round.
That's time! Craig's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Craig shoots in and gets a takedown into Knox's guard.
Knox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Craig. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Craig stands up from Knox's guard - Craig perhaps looking for a knockout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Craig.
Craig looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Knox fails with a takedown attempt.

Craig shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Craig seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Knox is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Craig works his way into full mount!
Craig controlling his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Craig lands with some strikes.
Craig scoring with strikes but Knox is staying in there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Craig takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Knox is in a horrible position here. Craig smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Knox is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Craig lands with some strikes.
Craig controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Craig is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Craig takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knox is trying to reverse the position but instead Craig has taken his back - oops!
Craig is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Craig dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Knox tries for a takedown but Craig circles away easily
and Craig makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Craig moves into the clinch.
Craig is pressed up against the cage. Knox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Craig down to the mat. Craig avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Craig moves into the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Craig obliges.

Craig turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Craig manages to end up in side control.
Craig staying calm.
Knox takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Craig in side control lands a decent elbow.
Craig has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Knox!
Craig controlling his opponent.
Craig postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Knox looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Craig tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Craig looking to secure an arm triangle but Knox defends it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Craig controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knox is working to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Craig sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Simon Craig.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Craig.

And that's the end of the fight!
Simon Craig showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Craig has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
