PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bart Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown's entrance music is AC/DC - Thunderstruck. A fine choice. Hain has chosen Time Frame by Dom and Roland as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sam Hain enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bart Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Hain!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hain gets the takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hain cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Brown because Hain loaded up on that one.

Hain has hold of Brown's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brown manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

It looks like Bart Brown has been cut.
Hain throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hain postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Brown looks a forlorn figure.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hain misses with a few strikes there.
Sam Hain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hain.
Brown throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hain shoots in looking for a takedown. Brown tries to sprawl out of it but Hain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brown manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brown gets to his feet - Hain follows without any prompting.
Hain avoids the body shot from Brown.

Hain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Hain's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Hain tries to escape but Brown has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Brown stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hain to get to his feet.

Sam Hain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hain fails with a takedown attempt.
Brown on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hain throws a looping overhand right but Brown ducks down to avoid it.
Hain shoots for a takedown but Brown saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hain uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brown.

Hain shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brown is looking for a sweep. Hain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hain moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Brown has worked his arm free - good work by Brown!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hain scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Brown to see if he's OK.
Brown is looking to regain half guard here but Hain keeps moving and retains side control.

Hain is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brown knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sam Hain is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Hain winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
