Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Heaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suejoe Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heaton comes into the arena with Bodies by Drowning Pool blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watts closes the distance and clinches up with Heaton, looking for a takedown. Watts pushes Heaton against the cage but Heaton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Heaton moves in looking to clinch but Watts pushes him off.
Heaton misses with a series of wild punches.
No joy there for Heaton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Heaton misses with a head kick.
Watts keeps the fight on the outside.
Watts shoots in and drives through. Heaton sprawls well.
Heaton scores with the left hand. Watts knows he should have avoided that one.
Watts tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jack Heaton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heaton throws a sloppy head kick and Watts moves out of range easily.
Watts shoots in and drives through. Heaton sprawls well.
Jack Heaton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Suejoe Watts.

Watts has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Heaton tries to reverse the position but Watts maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heaton has given up his back.

Watts looking to break Heaton's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Heaton remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Watts will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

I really don't envy Heaton right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Heaton has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
