PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dude Viljakainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bull's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Black Label Society - Fire It Up. Viljakainen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ABBA - Dancing Queen. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dude Viljakainen!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Viljakainen clinches up against the cage.
Bull tries to land a knee to the head but Viljakainen blocks with his arms.
Viljakainen tries to break the clinch but Bull is controlling the position.
Viljakainen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Viljakainen has had enough of the clinch but Bull keeps him there for the moment.
Viljakainen wants to get back to striking at distance but Bull won't allow it.

A body shot lands from Bull.
A frustrated look appears on Viljakainen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Viljakainen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bull tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Viljakainen was well out of range. Poor timing from Bull.
Bull misses with a head kick.

Bull forces Viljakainen back against the cage and clinches.
Viljakainen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bull has him pressed against the cage.
Viljakainen working hard to break the clinch.
Viljakainen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bull misses with a knee strike.

Viljakainen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Viljakainen misses.
Dude Viljakainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bull lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Viljakainen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bull circles away quickly and effectively.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Viljakainen swings for the body but Bull moves out of range.
Bull thuds a left hand into Viljakainen's body.
Bull swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Viljakainen ducks under a wild hook from Bull.
Viljakainen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice body punch from Bull.
Bull has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Viljakainen finds it's way round the side to connect with Bull's head.
Viljakainen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bull back to the cage. Viljakainen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Bull takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Viljakainen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bull fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Viljakainen, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bull lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Bull prevents Viljakainen from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Viljakainen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bull tries to work over Viljakainen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bull breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Viljakainen misses the shot to the body.
Viljakainen on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bull moves out of range of the strikes.

Bull drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bull is looking to work some ground and pound but Viljakainen has wrist control.

Viljakainen kicks Bull off and gets to his feet.
Bull defending well as Viljakainen loads up on a big left hand.
Viljakainen lands with an overhand left.
A looping hook to the body misses from Viljakainen. Bull does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bull lands a really nice looking cross but Viljakainen seems unphased.
Viljakainen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bull manages to avoid it.
Viljakainen throws a right and a left that Bull avoids nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bull, as that shot connected.
Viljakainen misses with a series of wild punches.

A big left from Bull misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bull gets the takedown into side control.
Bull tries to advance to mount but can't.
Bull cracks Viljakainen with a big right hand but Viljakainen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Bull tries for a kimura but Viljakainen is defending well.
Viljakainen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Bull landing strikes.
Viljakainen tries to escape but Bull is in control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Viljakainen looks gassed!
Bull lands a nice forearm strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bull is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Viljakainen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bull creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Viljakainen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Viljakainen is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Bull working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.


Viljakainen is rocked!
Viljakainen is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Viljakainen is still in real trouble! Can Bull finish him?
Viljakainen tries to escape but Bull is in control.
Bull is chipping away with strikes.
Bull lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Viljakainen down.
Bull cracks Viljakainen with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Bull immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Viljakainen is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Bull!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Bull!
A relieved looking Roy Bull thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
