The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rage dives in and grabs Meijer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meijer pushes down on Rage's head and hops out.
Rage swats away the attempt to clinch by Meijer.

Rage is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meijer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rage.

Rage looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Meijer is defending against the submission attempts here by Rage.

Rage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Meijer is just riding it out for now. Rage eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
