PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rossi comes to the cage accompanied by Heavy Metal! . Valko Strange told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dale Rossi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Valko Strange!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rossi!
Strange looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Strange fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A cross from Rossi lands.
Rossi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Strange eats them both and turns towards Rossi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Rossi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Strange takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Strange takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Rossi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Strange shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Strange was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Strange throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Strange prevents Rossi from getting the reversal.
Rossi wants to hold on but Strange pushes him away.
Strange lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Strange is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rossi wants to try and get back to his feet.
Strange is landing with some decent strikes but Rossi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Strange looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Strange sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Strange cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oh Rossi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Strange has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Strange postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rossi badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Strange around the waist but Strange pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Strange is the winner by TKO! Strange jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
