The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bergasmarchi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Azhiev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bergasmarchi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Azhiev's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bergasmarchi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Azhiev is wriggling around but Bergasmarchi manages to pass to half guard.
Bergasmarchi seems to be looking for submissions.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bergasmarchi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Azhiev gets caught napping as Bergasmarchi dives in and scores a takedown. Azhiev manages to retain guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bergasmarchi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Azhiev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Azhiev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bergasmarchi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Azhiev prevents Bergasmarchi from improving his position.
Bergasmarchi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bergasmarchi.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bergasmarchi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Azhiev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Bergasmarchi counters with a shoot takedown. Azhiev fights it but they end up in guard.
Azhiev looking for a sweep. Not yet Azhiev, not yet.
Bergasmarchi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bergasmarchi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Azhiev for as long as he can get away with.
We're going to have a standup here because Eduardo Bergasmarchi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Bergasmarchi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Azhiev's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bergasmarchi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Azhiev is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
