Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Medina closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Medina is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thomas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Medina is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Medina is really struggling to control Thomas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Medina wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thomas, who protects the arm well.
Thomas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Medina wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Medina. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's time! Medina's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Medina's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Thomas is holding on here and Medina must be using up a lot of energy. Thomas has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Medina gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
