Stackhouse is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Every Time I Die - Roman Holiday. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez fails with the takedown
and Stackhouse counters with a left to the body.
Stackhouse misses with a wild body shot.
Stackhouse throws a right hand that Rodriguez ducks under and follows up with a left that Rodriguez also avoids with ease.

Stackhouse gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rodriguez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Stackhouse working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodriguez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rodriguez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stackhouse wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rodriguez is now in half guard.

Stackhouse is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Rodriguez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Stackhouse won't allow Rodriguez to pass to mount.
Stackhouse tries to get to full guard but Rodriguez has control of the leg.
Rodriguez uses his free foot to push down on Stackhouse's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stackhouse.

The referee warns Stackhouse that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That has opened up Dave Stackhouse's cut even more.

Stackhouse is in a horrible position here. Rodriguez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The cut above Dave Stackhouse's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
