Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlo May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Knock Out!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

May has taken the fight to the clinch.

May drags the fight down to the ground.
Out wants to stand but May is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Out wants to stand and escape but instead May has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
May stays in close to Out's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Out swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so May counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
May not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlo May.

May has closed the distance and engaged Out in a clinch.
May lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

May pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
May looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
May pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Out cracks a nice hook into May's ribs.
May shoots in for a double leg but Out sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

May closes the distance and pushes Out back into the cage.
May stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
May is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

May breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Out tries to keep at a distance but May has taken the fight into the clinch.

May has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Out uses from the top position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Out wants to get up but he can't break May's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
May will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

May kicks Out off and gets to his feet.

May changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Out fights it off and pushes away nicely.
No joy there for Out, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Out moves out of range as May throws a body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
May shoots for a takedown but Out saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlo May. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Out does no damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Out throws a left and a right that both miss

and May counters by moving into the clinch.

May breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Out is fighting off a takedown attempt but May is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Out to the mat. Out regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
May throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Out works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
May trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
May wants to pass the guard but Out is keeping the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Carlo May wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A left lands for May.
May showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Out.
May slips a jab and a cross from Out.

May gets in close and instigates a clinch.

May manages to break the clinch.
Out throws a right hand that May ducks under and follows up with a left that May also avoids with ease.
Out slips under a jab from May.

Out tries to keep at a distance but May has taken the fight into the clinch.

May jumps into guard, dragging Out to the mat.

May has his feet on Out's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Out is trying to pull guard but May turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Out working hard to break the clinch.

May manages to break the clinch.
Out misses with a two punch combination.
Out throws a nice looking combination but May bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
May throws a series of strikes that have Out backpedaling.


It looks like Knock Out has been cut.

May throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Out was covering up waiting for the punch and May finishes the takedown easily into guard.
May not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlo May.
Out misses with a series of wild punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

May closes the distance and clinches.
May lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlo May dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Knock Out's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

May's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

May wriggles free and stands up.

May with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

May has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Out is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

May using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Out has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Carlo May overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
May is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

After the fight, Carlo May was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
