PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bang Udin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Udin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eminem - Not afraid. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bang Udin!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Udin to the mat! Udin manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Udin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones lands a couple of elbows.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Udin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jones wants to control but Udin is having none of it.
Jones is looking to improve his position but Udin isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is trying to maintain the position but Udin is very close to passing his half guard.
Jones tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Udin seems to be looking for submissions.

Udin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Udin is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Udin to get the leverage.
Udin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Udin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jones reverses the position - he's now on top in Udin's guard.
Udin is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Udin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Udin's guard.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Udin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Udin's legs - danger averted.

Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Udin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Udin is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Udin shoots and misses

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Udin is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.

Udin is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Udin's temple.
Udin is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Udin is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.

Jones is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Udin tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones drops an elbow to the side of Udin's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Udin wants to get back to full guard.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Udin is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Udin is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Jones is nestled in close to Udin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Luke Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Udin defends it well.

Udin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Udin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Udin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jones has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Udin doesn't defend quickly enough and Jones has managed to lock this one up! Can Udin escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jones on a fantastic submission victory.
