Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John The Butcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alpha Dog!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog dives in and grabs The Butcher's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Butcher pushes down on Dog's head and hops out.
The Butcher throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dog.
The Butcher misses with the combination.
The Butcher misses with a double jab.
John The Butcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Butcher avoids it really well and circles away.
The Butcher misses with a wild combination.
The Butcher lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dog circles away quickly and effectively.
Dog slips under a jab.
The Butcher lands a really nice looking cross but Dog seems unphased.
The Butcher swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dog decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Butcher's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Dog is pushing down on The Butcher's leg trying to pass to half guard. The Butcher is fighting to maintain full guard but Dog has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dog is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dog is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Dog is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dog is thwarting The Butcher's attempts to control the position.

Dog wants to work for an arm triangle but The Butcher is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The Butcher wants to improve his position but Dog is controlling well.
Dog tries to pass the half guard into mount. The Butcher knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dog is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The Butcher trying to hold on to Dog's head to control him but Dog postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Butcher is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dog pulls his head out easily.
The Butcher might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The Butcher is looking to escape.
Dog passes to full mount!
Dog takes The Butcher's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, The Butcher is in trouble.

Dog patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Dog is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. The Butcher is defending well though. Dog let's go of the attempt for now.

The Butcher rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The Butcher tries to roll over but Dog keeps him under control.

Dog is looking for a kimura but The Butcher is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dog to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog passes to full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Butcher regains half guard.
The Butcher gets full guard.
Dog wants to pass the guard but The Butcher is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alpha Dog dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dog shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Butcher as he avoids it easily.
The Butcher scores with a jab to the body.
Dog shoots in looking for a takedown. The Butcher tries to sprawl out of it but Dog keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Butcher manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
John The Butcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alpha Dog.
The Butcher tries to bum rush Dog with a series of wild strikes but Dog uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dog avoids a punch combination nicely.
The Butcher thuds his right hand into Dog's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice uppercut there from The Butcher.
A combination from The Butcher does no damage.
Dog fails with the takedown
and The Butcher counters with a three punch combo that has Dog backing up. Dog nods at The Butcher to acknowledge the strikes.
Dog throws a combination but it was largely blocked by The Butcher.

Dog misses with a takedown attempt - The Butcher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
John The Butcher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dog is breathing heavily.
The Butcher throws a series of punches but Dog avoids them all with ease.
Dog moves forwards but The Butcher connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dog doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling The Butcher to counter with a crisp jab.
Dog has his takedown stuffed
and The Butcher counters with a stiff right hand.
Dog tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Butcher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dog somewhat.
Dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and The Butcher counters with a three punch combo that has Dog backing up. Dog nods at The Butcher to acknowledge the strikes.


Dog is rocked!
The Butcher lands with a good body shot.
Dog is still on wobbly legs! Can The Butcher finish him?
The Butcher thuds a left hand into Dog's body.
The Butcher lands with a right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The Butcher misses with a wild combination.
John The Butcher is winning the standup battle so far.
The Butcher drops Dog with a huge uppercut! Dog drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. The Butcher is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John The Butcher!
John The Butcher bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
