Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mick Frey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mick Frey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madison shoots for a takedown but Frey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Frey pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Madison enables Frey to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Madison manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Madison bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frey's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Madison keeps working.

Frey decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Frey throws a sloppy head kick and Madison moves out of range easily.
Frey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Madison tries to avoid it but Frey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Madison to the ground. Madison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Frey gets caught flat footed, as Madison shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Frey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madison gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Madison works over Frey with some ground and pound from guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Madison connects with a couple of short punches.
Madison keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Frey's head.
Madison won't allow Frey to sweep him here.
Frey is working hard here to advance position.

Madison drops back, looking for a kneebar! Frey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Frey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Frey!
Frey misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Madison gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Madison is refusing to be controlled, as Frey sits in half guard.

Frey is keen to just control but Madison is a slippery customer.

Frey wants to control from the top but Madison keeps moving.

Madison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
