Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rafael dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucious LaFleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think dos Santos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger. LaFleur has chosen 2001 a space odyssey as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dos Santos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. LaFleur sees it coming and avoids it easily.
dos Santos slaps away a takedown attempt from LaFleur, before circling back to the center of the mat.

LaFleur shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches dos Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
dos Santos is trying to get back to his feet.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

LaFleur decides to take the fight back to the feet.
dos Santos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from LaFleur finds it's way round the side to connect with dos Santos's head.
LaFleur throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck dos Santos on the side of the head.

Horrible takedown by LaFleur or perhaps it was just good defense by dos Santos which made him look bad.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
LaFleur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around dos Santos's waist but dos Santos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing LaFleur off to one side.
Rafael dos Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucious LaFleur.

dos Santos looks to throw the jab but LaFleur is out of range.

dos Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with LaFleur but LaFleur pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lucious LaFleur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

LaFleur scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

LaFleur seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but dos Santos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lucious LaFleur hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

LaFleur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so dos Santos is just riding it out for now. LaFleur eventually gives up the hold.

dos Santos pushes LaFleur off looking to stand but LaFleur dives back in and keeps control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

LaFleur is looking to take a break and control but dos Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lucious LaFleur was stalling too much, according to the referee.
dos Santos scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
LaFleur throws a right and a left that both miss.
dos Santos fails to land with a series of punches.
LaFleur misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

LaFleur shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. dos Santos is trying to defend but LaFleur finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

LaFleur feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

dos Santos wants to stand and escape but LaFleur is having none of it.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

dos Santos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
LaFleur is trying to get back to full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

LaFleur is sitting in close to dos Santos's body. dos Santos has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! LaFleur is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, LaFleur is tapping! That was a very nice submission by dos Santos.
