Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Zummi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunther Reza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zummi comes to the cage accompanied by Gummi Bears. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gunther Reza!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reza walks into a left hand.
Zummi swings for the body but Reza moves out of range.
A big left from Zummi misses.
A jab from Reza misses.
Steve Zummi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reza misses with an uppercut. Zummi saw that one coming.
Reza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Zummi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Reza counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reza slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zummi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunther Reza has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Reza takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Reza stays in close to Zummi's body and controls the position.

Zummi controls Reza momentarily but Reza frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Reza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zummi is fending him off so far but Reza persists. Nope, Zummi circles away and we're back to standing.
Zummi scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Steve Zummi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Zummi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Reza with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zummi to score with a decent uppercut.

Reza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Reza throws a sloppy head kick and Zummi moves out of range easily.
Zummi lands a nice shot to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zummi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zummi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reza.
Zummi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Zummi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fighters circling - Zummi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Zummi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Reza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Zummi swings for the body but Reza moves out of range.

Zummi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Reza has Zummi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zummi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Reza keeps control of Zummi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Reza tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zummi smiles and moves away.
A punch combination from Zummi misses.
Steve Zummi is winning the standup battle so far.
Reza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zummi avoids it really well and circles away.
Steve Zummi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gunther Reza.

A telegraphed right hand from Reza misses the target.
Reza misses with a low kick as Zummi jumps back.
Zummi misses with a straight left.
Steve Zummi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reza is taking a breather. Zummi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Zummi misses with a wild combination.
Zummi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Reza misses with an attempted mid kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Reza - that will leave a mark!
Reza throws out a loose jab but Zummi uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Steve Zummi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Zummi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Reza throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zummi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reza is in Zummi's guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Zummi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Reza shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reza showed some decent athleticism there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reza uses his free foot to push down on Zummi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zummi.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reza takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reza lands a big shot there that rocks Zummi but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gunther Reza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reza sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Reza is working for a guillotine from mount but Zummi frees his head quite easily.
Steve Zummi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gunther Reza has got the better of the ground game so far.
Zummi is desperately trying to improve his position but Reza has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gunther Reza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Zummi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
