Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers comes to the cage accompanied by Superman. Ken Hansen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Marshall Mathers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mathers takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mathers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hansen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mathers's waist but Mathers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hansen off to one side.
Mathers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hansen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mathers counters with a two punch combo.
Hansen scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hansen digs a good body shot into Mathers's ribs.
Decent striking displayed by Mathers there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sloppy strikes from Mathers. Those never looked like landing.
Hansen fails with the takedown
and Mathers counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Marshall Mathers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Hansen.
Hansen tries to land a front kick but Mathers steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mathers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hansen was well out of range. Poor timing from Mathers.

and Mathers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hansen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mathers has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mathers and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mathers as he avoids it easily.

Hansen has closed the distance and engaged Mathers in a clinch.

Mathers wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hansen has him pressed against the cage.
Hansen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mathers avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hansen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mathers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hansen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mathers misses with an uppercut. Hansen saw that one coming.

Mathers scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hansen doesn't seem bothered though.

Hansen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hansen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mathers tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hansen wants to control from the top but Mathers keeps moving.
Mathers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Hansen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mathers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mathers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

A determined Marshall Mathers didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
