PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramstein Rommel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin Shou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shou is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Clubbed to Death. Colin Shou is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ramstein Rommel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colin Shou!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shou scores a takedown into full mount!
Shou can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rommel is looking to escape.
Rommel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Rommel tries to reverse the position but Shou maintains control.

Shou working for a submission but Rommel is keeping him at bay.
Rommel wants to hold on but Shou pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shou has control of Rommel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rommel regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rommel is squirming around, avoiding Shou's attempts to control the action.
Rommel tries to hold on but Shou postures up.
Shou misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Shou looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rommel wants to hold on but Shou pushes him away.

Shou working for a guillotine from mount but Rommel is in no mood to give up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shou misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Rommel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rommel tries to get out of the position.

Shou connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Shou has hold of Rommel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rommel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rommel can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colin Shou dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Rommel lands a right hook to the body.
Rommel fails to land with a series of punches.
Rommel closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Colin Shou has been cut.
Shou tries to close the distance and clinch but Rommel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rommel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rommel throws a lazy right hand but Shou sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rommel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shou fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rommel shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shou eats them both and turns towards Rommel to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rommel takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rommel is looking to score with low kicks.
Rommel scores with a punch to the head.
Shou fails with a takedown attempt.
Shou shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rommel connects with a body shot that sends Shou's belly button to the back.
Shou connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rommel's hands.
Shou is breathing heavily.
Rommel lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Shou shoots in but Rommel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ramstein Rommel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colin Shou.
Shou on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A cross from Rommel lands.
Rommel thuds a left hand into Shou's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rommel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shou moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shou slips a jab and a cross from Rommel.
Shou tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rommel swivels and escapes.
Rommel scores with a jab to the body.
Rommel scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Rommel lands with a hook. Shou tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


Shou is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rommel plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Shou swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Shou face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ramstein Rommel!
Ramstein Rommel was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
