The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightfoot fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bailey.

Bailey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lightfoot's guard.

Lightfoot shoots in looking for a takedown. Bailey tries to sprawl out of it but Lightfoot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bailey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bailey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bailey drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bailey jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shannon Bailey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bailey looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lightfoot manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
