Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Souwer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jesse McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Souwer!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McCoy tries for a takedown but Souwer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Souwer slips under a jab from McCoy.
McCoy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McCoy missing with a left hand there. Souwer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McCoy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Souwer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Souwer lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
McCoy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Souwer swings for the body but McCoy moves out of range.
Souwer takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
McCoy throws a body punch but Souwer moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Souwer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Souwer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McCoy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McCoy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Souwer to score with a decent uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCoy missing with a left hand there. Souwer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McCoy moves away from the strike by Souwer.
McCoy shoots in for a takedown but Souwer shows good takedown defense.
McCoy swings away with a body shot that misses
and Souwer counters with a straight right hand.
Souwer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Souwer slips a straight right by McCoy.
McCoy throws a big shot that misses.
Tony Souwer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McCoy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McCoy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Souwer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tony Souwer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jab, jab by Souwer - just one landing.
Souwer slips a straight right by McCoy.
A jab from McCoy misses.
Souwer scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
McCoy walks into a jab.

McCoy staying out of range there.
McCoy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Souwer staying out of range there.
McCoy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McCoy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Souwer throws out the jab.

Souwer lands a nice hook to McCoy's body. McCoy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Souwer moves out of range of the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Souwer misses with a hook.

McCoy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Souwer tries to roll over but McCoy keeps him under control.
Souwer wants to control but McCoy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McCoy is looking to take a break and control but Souwer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McCoy prevents Souwer from improving his position.
Souwer is looking to get back to full guard here but McCoy has managed to pass to side control instead.
McCoy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
McCoy scoring with punches and elbows.
McCoy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
McCoy is looking to take a break and control but Souwer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McCoy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Souwer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McCoy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McCoy trying to control the position but Souwer is working away.
Souwer is looking to regain half guard here but McCoy keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McCoy scores with a couple of short elbows.
Souwer is trying to control McCoy's posture but McCoy avoids it.
McCoy is chipping away with strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Souwer is not content to let McCoy control the position.
McCoy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Souwer some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse McCoy dominated that second round.
That's time! McCoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Souwer throws a shot from downtown. McCoy moves away and avoids it.
Souwer misses with a straight right.
McCoy misses with a hook to the body
and Souwer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCoy throws a hook but Souwer blocks it.
McCoy misses with an uppercut
and Souwer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McCoy thinking.

McCoy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McCoy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McCoy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Souwer throws a hook but McCoy avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McCoy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McCoy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
McCoy slips a jab from Souwer.
McCoy moves away from the strike by Souwer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A slow jab from Souwer misses its intended target.
McCoy missing with a left hand there. Souwer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Souwer throws a hook but McCoy avoids it easily.
Tony Souwer seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McCoy ducks under a wild hook from Souwer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Souwer throws a hook but McCoy blocks it.
Souwer scores with a jab.
Souwer throws a poor cross that misses
and McCoy counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Souwer scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tony Souwer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Souwer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
