Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Kurze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Niob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konrad Kurze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Niob!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurze throws a body punch but Niob moves out of range.
Kurze smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Kurze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Niob sprawls well initially but Kurze persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kurze is trying to control. Niob wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Niob looks like he's trying to stand up.
Niob has hold of Kurze's hands but Kurze slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Niob on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kurze wants to control but Niob is keeping him busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kurze connects with a nice short shot to Niob's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kurze slips a nice elbow through Niob's hands, connecting with Niob's forehead.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Niob wants to get back to his feet.
Kurze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kurze seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Niob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kurze is nestled in close to Niob, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kurze is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Niob pushes Kurze off looking to stand but Kurze dives back in and keeps control.

Kurze lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kurze working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kurze is pressing down on Niob's thigh, looking to free his foot. Niob is holding on for now.
Kurze thows a huge punch but Niob dodges it nicely.
Kurze wants to lay and pray for a moment but Niob keeps working.

Kurze wants to pass to mount but Niob is defending the position.
Niob tries to kick Kurze off but Kurze keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Niob is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

Niob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kurze. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kurze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Niob is looking to escape.
Kurze working over Niob with some ground and pound. Niob looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Kurze thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kurze seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Niob tries to kick Kurze off in order to stand up. Kurze Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Kurze prevents Niob from escaping the position.
Kurze is looking to take a break and control but Niob is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Niob wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Kurze lands some shots froms side control.

Kurze is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Niob looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kurze gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Niob is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kurze lets go of the hold and Niob can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Konrad Kurze!
