Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kong King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarret Slertys!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slertys ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
King takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
King shoots in for a double leg but Slertys sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Slertys sprawls well. Slertys wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kong King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slertys but Slertys pushes him off and we're back to square one.

King feints and as Slertys raises his hands in defense, King changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Slertys displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
Kong King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slertys throws a front kick aimed at King's knee but King avoids it well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Slertys enables King to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Slertys manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

King works a leg free and moves into half guard.
King seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

King seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Slertys for as long as he can get away with.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Slertys's temple.
King uses his free foot to push down on Slertys's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slertys.

King is landing with some decent strikes but Slertys is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

King perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kong King has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
King shoots in for a takedown but Slertys shows good takedown defense.
King shoots in looking for a takedown but Slertys manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Slertys stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slertys wants it to stay on the feet.

King shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Slertys's guard.

King remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
King scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Slertys to see if he's OK.
Jarret Slertys has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Slertys really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

King creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Slertys trying to remain calm as King controls from the top position.
King looks up at the clock and then as Slertys takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, King smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kong King is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
King cracks Slertys with a big right hand but Slertys just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King advances nicely into full mount.
King lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
King is landing with some decent strikes but Slertys is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kong King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
