Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Nere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Amelia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gabriel Amelia was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nere feints and as Amelia raises his hands in defense, Nere changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nere postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nere has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Amelia trying to keep a closed guard but Nere is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nere stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amelia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nere is pushing down on Amelia's leg trying to pass to half guard. Amelia is fighting to maintain full guard but Nere has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nere thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Amelia's head.
Amelia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nere. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nere has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Amelia defend it? Nere steps over the head and cranks it - Amelia is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Nere!
