PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ass Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ass Destroyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rock Lee!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lee.
Destroyer closes the distance looking to clinch
enabling Lee to counter with a crisp jab.
Destroyer has a takedown stuffed.
Destroyer fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Destroyer pinned against the cage. Destroyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Destroyer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lee leaves Destroyer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Destroyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Destroyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Destroyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lee wants the takedown. Destroyer is fighting it off but Lee persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Destroyer's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Lee gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Lee counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lee.

Lee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Destroyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee wants to improve his position but instead Destroyer has moved into half guard.

Destroyer is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lee to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lee shrugs it off.
Lee can't escape the position.
Destroyer avoids the attempt from Lee to control.

Destroyer with a couple of short strikes.
Lee tries to lock up and control but Destroyer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Destroyer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lee is looking to escape.
Lee manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Destroyer moves nicely into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Destroyer goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lee rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Destroyer's guard! Nice work there by Lee!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock Lee dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Destroyer shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Destroyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Destroyer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lee avoids it really well and circles away.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Destroyer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Destroyer's guard.

Ass Destroyer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Destroyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Destroyer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Destroyer dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Destroyer's head and hops out.

Rock Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Destroyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lee takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Destroyer moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Destroyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes.
Destroyer shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Destroyer shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Destroyer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lee pulls his leg out and moves away.

Destroyer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Destroyer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Destroyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Destroyer working for submissions but it's allowed Lee to get to half guard.
Lee thows a huge punch but Destroyer dodges it nicely.
Rock Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Destroyer wants to get back to full guard but Lee has passed into side control.

Lee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Destroyer to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Destroyer as Lee shoots in.

Lee misses with a takedown attempt - Destroyer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Destroyer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Destroyer.

Lee dives in and grabs Destroyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Destroyer pushes down on Lee's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Destroyer's waist but Destroyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side.
Ass Destroyer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Destroyer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ass Destroyer.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
