And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dustin James!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hurt counters with a good low kick that James was not able to check.

James instigates a clinch.
James tries to land a knee to the head but Hurt blocks with his arms.
James can't get the takedown.

Hurt manages to break the clinch.

James moves into the clinch successfully.
A head punch on the inside from James fails to land.

Hurt pulls James into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hurt is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Hurt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
James misses with a knee to the head.

Hurt has picked James up - he's going for a ride! Hurt dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Hurt is looking for a kimura but James is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hurt to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hurt is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, James has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hurt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
James won't allow Hurt to pass to mount.

Hurt is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer.
James has a hand on Hurt's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hurt takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hurt jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but James manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hurt tries for a kimura but James is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hurt decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
James has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hurt after a bit of a struggle.
Herb Hurt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dustin James.

Hurt manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Hurt looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but James is defending well. Hurt quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! James has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hurt celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Herb Hurt spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
