Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between BRANDON COSEY (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skippy Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skippy Dixon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BRANDON COSEY!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Skippy Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by COSEY.
Dixon tries to close the distance and clinch up but COSEY swats him away and circles back towards the center.
COSEY throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

COSEY instigates a clinch.
COSEY lands an elbow inside.
Dixon misses with a knee to the head.
COSEY lands a shot to the body.

COSEY turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and COSEY manages to end up in side control.
Dixon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but COSEY wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
COSEY in side control, just content to control the action for now.

COSEY creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
COSEY has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

COSEY stands up and we're back to a striking position.
COSEY throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dixon.


It looks like Skippy Dixon has been cut.
Dixon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
COSEY tries to bum rush Dixon with a series of wild strikes but Dixon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

COSEY clinches with his opponent.
COSEY goes for a takedown attempt but Dixon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
COSEY throws a lazy right hand but Dixon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

COSEY looks to land a combination but Dixon avoids it well.
COSEY swinging wilding here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dixon.
COSEY throws a head kick but Dixon moves out of range.
Dixon tries to clinch but COSEY moves out of range.

COSEY closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

COSEY decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dixon to his feet.
COSEY is breathing heavily.

Dixon tries to bum rush COSEY with a series of wild strikes but COSEY uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

COSEY drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
COSEY tries to free his leg and advance position but Dixon is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as COSEY accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dixon wants to stand up but COSEY is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

COSEY decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dixon, up you get!

COSEY drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

COSEY tries to clinch but Dixon is having none of it.

COSEY bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
COSEY lands a few punches from side control.
Dixon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
COSEY controlling from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
COSEY is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

COSEY lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

COSEY closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Dixon is looking to break free of the clinch but COSEY has double underhooks.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dixon just misses with a elbow thrown towards COSEY's brow.
COSEY will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dixon up against the cage.

BRANDON COSEY seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

COSEY decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
COSEY landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
COSEY trying to control the pace.
COSEY's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

COSEY shoots in but Dixon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

COSEY is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
BRANDON COSEY overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dixon is not content to let COSEY control the position.
COSEY content to control rather than advance.

COSEY has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
COSEY passes the guard and advances to mount!

COSEY with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

COSEY seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dixon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but COSEY scores with a couple of nice shots.

BRANDON COSEY is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dixon throws a sloppy head kick and COSEY moves out of range easily.
Jab, jab by COSEY - just one landing.

COSEY closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dixon to the mat! Dixon manages to get full guard.
COSEY content to stall in guard here.

COSEY gets to his feet. Dixon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dixon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dixon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but COSEY swivels and escapes.
COSEY throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dixon.

COSEY feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but COSEY can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

COSEY stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dixon to get to his feet.

Dixon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. COSEY tries to avoid it but Dixon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag COSEY to the ground. COSEY escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
BRANDON COSEY has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skippy Dixon.

COSEY fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dixon, pushing him back against the cage.

COSEY has clasped his hands together around Dixon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

COSEY tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no COSEY has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

BRANDON COSEY showed his dominance in that final round.
Well COSEY has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
