Club is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jean-Charles Skarbowski . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Club!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Club closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rush counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Club has his foot on Rush's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rush works his way back into a safe position though.

Club is looking for a triangle but Rush pushes his legs off easily.

Club has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rush is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Club.
Club is looking for a sweep.
Club manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
It looks like Club is going to stand back up.

Rush manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Club had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rush defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rush wanted to stand there but Club had control of the position.

Club tries to buck Rush off but Rush is having none of it.
Rush scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Club to see if he's OK.
Club is looking to regain half guard here but Rush keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Rush counters with a shoot takedown. Club fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Club isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rush stacks Club on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rush!

Rush is trying to control. Club wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rush thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Rush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rush is looking to take a break and control but Club is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Club is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rush in particular looking to stall.
Club wants to get back to full guard.

Club has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rush can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rush wants to control from the top but Club keeps moving.

Club working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rush doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rush manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Club escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Club is breathing heavily.
Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Club swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Club wants to clinch but Rush slips to the side

and Rush counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rush with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Rush working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rush is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

John Rush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rush cracks Club with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Club is being controlled here.
Club tries to bench press Rush off him but Rush keeps the position.
Club looking for a sweep but Rush has passed into full mount! Oh no!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rush has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Club's face.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rush trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Rush fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Club avoids it really well and circles away.

Club controls Rush momentarily but Rush frees himself.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Club has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rush is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Club.
Club takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Club manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Club is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rush is aware though and is defending well.
Rush is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Club can do to turn this around?

Club takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Club is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Rush counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Club!

Rush has control of Club's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Club regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Billy Club has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Club takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Rush is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Club can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rush working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Club turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Rush off and cradles Club's limp body as Rush celebrates with his corner.
