The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brookins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Warhawk was covering up waiting for the punch and Brookins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Brookins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Brookins tries to move to mount but Warhawk blocks the move with his legs.
Brookins slows the pace down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ari Brookins wasn't active enough on the ground.

Brookins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
