PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meat Shield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bashor comes to the cage accompanied by Monster by Skillet. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shield stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bashor misses with a few strikes there.
Bashor keeps the fight on the outside.
Shield throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shield lands with a cross.
Bashor throws a head kick that Shield semi-blocks.
A head kick misses from Shield.
Shield throws a series of punches but Bashor avoids them all with ease.
Shield pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shield motions for Bashor to come forward. Shield throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bashor lands a jab to the nose.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shield shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bashor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shield.
Shield misses with a head kick.
Bashor slips a jab and a cross from Shield.

Shield pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bashor dodges the punch combination from Shield.
Bashor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Shield misses with a wild body shot.
Bashor lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bashor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shield stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Shield gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Bashor scores with a decent looking hook.
Shield takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A punch combination from Shield misses.
Bashor shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shield scores with a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shield tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bashor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shield swings for the body but Bashor moves out of range.

Bashor feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shield sprawling to the canvas! Shield rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bashor finish him?!

Shield is rocked!
Bashor cracks Shield on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shield falls backwards against the cage. Bashor follows up with more strikes that drop Shield to his knees. Bashor keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shield! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Bashor!
An out of breath James Bashor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
