Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hopsan Barley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Wallase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hopsan Barley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christopher Wallase!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barley clinches up against the cage.
Barley lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wallase backwards.
Wallase missing with knees to the body.
Wallase goes for a takedown attempt but Barley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Barley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wallase swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jab by Barley.
Barley fails in his attempt to clinch.

Barley moves into the clinch successfully.
Barley using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Wallase has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Barley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Barley has his foot on Wallase's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallase works his way back into a safe position though.
Wallase wants to control from the top but Barley keeps moving.

Barley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Barley holds on and takes a little breather.

Barley is looking for a triangle but Wallase pushes his legs off easily.

Wallase drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wallase jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barley is looking for a sweep. Wallase is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Barley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Barley thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Barley trying to keep a closed guard but Wallase is proving a slippery customer.
Barley manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Barley with a couple of short strikes.

Barley goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Wallase turns into him and now he's in Barley's guard.

Barley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallase can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hopsan Barley dominated that round.
That's time! Barley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Wallase has Barley up against the cage in a clinch.
Wallase landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Barley avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallase is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Barley wants to clinch up but Wallase keeps it at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hopsan Barley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wallase changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Barley fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Barley is looking to control Wallase's arms but Wallase gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barley has his back to the cage.
Wallase goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barley prevents it.

Barley is trying to trip Wallase. He has hold of a leg but Wallase is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Barley gets to his feet - Wallase follows without any prompting.

Barley is really struggling to control Wallase but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Barley advances position into side control!

Barley tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Barley goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wallase has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Barley but great work by Wallase.

Barley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wallase is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wallase and Barley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Barley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wallase is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Christopher Wallase will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Barley. No joy for Wallase on that attempt.

Barley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wallase is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barley, into his guard.
Wallase sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barley's guard.
Barley wants to improve his position but Wallase is controlling well.
Barley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barley here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Barley has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wallase should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Barley has tightened it up now! Wallase should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
