PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casy Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nickelback- S.E.X. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Casy Carver!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carver on his heels. He'll look to pass Carver's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Miller wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving.

Miller controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Carver stands and steps away. Miller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carver changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miller tries to avoid it but Carver manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miller to the ground. Miller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carver uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.

Carver feints a jab promting Miller to slip. Carver then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Miller slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Carver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miller sprawls well. Miller wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carver gets slowly back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller is really struggling to control Carver but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Jason Miller wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Carver shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Miller is trying to defend but Carver finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
